Westinghouse Electric is in talks with US officials to deploy 10 large-scale nuclear reactors to play a role in achieving President Donald Trump's goal of increasing America's nuclear power capabilities. Westinghouse Electric Interim CEO Dan Sumner told the newspaper in an interview published on Sunday that the nuclear power developer may use its flagship pressurized water reactor AP1000 design to build all 10 reactors. The report quoted investment bank TD Cowen's estimate that these projects could cost $75 billion, not including potential delays or budget overruns. “We are actively engaging with the government,” Sumner told the newspaper. “Our customers, hyperscale enterprises, technology companies, and suppliers are all working together to try to clarify how to proceed with the deployment.”
