Iranian Foreign Minister Alagzi and International Atomic Energy Agency Director General Grossi visited Cairo on June 2 and held tripartite talks with Egypt. Egyptian Foreign Minister Abdulati held separate meetings with Alagazi and Grossi, after which the three parties held a closed-door meeting. At the press conference after the meeting, all parties stated that they will work hard to achieve a peaceful resolution of the Iran nuclear issue through political and diplomatic means and achieve regional denuclearization in order to prevent the Middle East region from falling further into an escalation of the situation. Iranian Foreign Minister Alagzi said that negotiations with the US are still ongoing. If the goal is to prevent Iran from possessing nuclear weapons rather than depriving Iran of its right to use nuclear energy peacefully, he believes the negotiations will definitely be reached. According to reports, Egyptian President Sisi also met with Alagezi and Grossi separately on the same day.
