Danish energy company European Energy announced on May 13 that the world's first commercial-scale electronic methanol plant, the Kassø Electronic Methanol Plant, has been officially completed and is ready to be delivered to major partners such as Maersk, LEGO, and Novo Nordisk. The plant was developed by European Energy and operated in partnership with Mitsui & Co. The statement said the plant has an annual production capacity of 42,000 tons and uses entirely renewable energy.
