Infineon will invest 5 billion euros on its own to create up to 1,000 new jobs. Additionally, Infineon is investing in Dresden through participation in the joint venture “European Semiconductor Manufacturing Company”. Earlier, in February of this year, the European Commission approved the German government to provide Infineon with 920 million euros of financial support for the construction of the Dresden plant. Construction of the plant began in May 2023, and construction is progressing according to plan. The main body of the building has been basically completed and is expected to be put into operation in 2026.
