South Korean companies are Vietnam's largest foreign investors, and they are preparing to deal with the impact of US President Trump's announcement to impose 46% equal tariffs on imported goods from Vietnam. Under Trump's comprehensive trade plan for dozens of countries, South Korea will be subject to 25% tariffs. Trump has now suspended the plan for 90 days until July. South Korea's Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that South Korea's Foreign Minister Cho Du-yeol met with Vietnamese Foreign Minister Bae Thanh Son on Tuesday. Earlier this week, South Korea's Minister of Industry, Trade and Resources Andegen also visited Vietnam to discuss how to deal with the impending tariff issue.
