MONGOL MINING (00975) produced a total of 2.11 million tons of washed coking coal products in the first quarter, a decrease of 2% over the previous year

According to the Zhitong Finance App, MONGOL MINING (00975) announced that in the first quarter of 2025, the total raw coal mining volume of the Group's UHG and BN mines was 3.6734 million tons, an increase of 3% year-on-year and remained unchanged from month to month.

The group processed a total of 3.749,500 tons of coking coal raw coal to produce 2.11 million tons of washed coking coal products, a year-on-year decrease of 2% and a month-on-month increase of 1%.

In the first quarter of 2025, ER and KEX, the group's operating subsidiaries, sold a total of 1.604 million tons of washed coking coal products. Among them, the group supplied the following combinations of washed coking coal products to its customers: 1,079,400 tons of washed hard coking coal; 72,200 tons of washed semi-soft coking coal; and 448,700 tons of washed ash semi-hard coking coal. Compared with the same period in 2024, the year-on-year decrease was 3%, while the month-on-month decrease was 15%.

The group holds 50% interest in Erdene Mongol LLC (EM) and is currently developing the Bayan Khundii (BKH) gold mine in the Bayankhongor League (province) of Mongolia. Gold production is expected to begin in the second half of 2025. The mine's total production over the expected mining period is 476 thousand ounces of extracted gold.

In the quarter ended March 31, 2025, EM continued to advance construction projects for gold processing plants and construction site support facilities, including electricity, heating and water supply infrastructure, laboratories, warehouses, chemical and explosive materials warehouses, offices and lodging camps. According to the project development schedule, construction progress reached about 86.5% at the end of the first quarter of 2025. The commissioning process is expected to begin in the second quarter of 2025.
