Today, at the opening main forum of the 2025 Zhangjiang Life Science International Innovation Summit, Xu Lai, member of the Standing Committee of the Shanghai Pudong District Committee and Deputy Party Secretary of the District Government, pointed out in her speech that in 2024, the biomedical industry in Pudong reached 420 billion yuan, an increase of 10% over the previous year, ranking first among the three leading industries in scale and growth rate. Since 2019, Pudong has approved a total of 21 Class 1 domestic innovative drugs and 31 innovative medical devices. Up to now this year, 2 Class I innovative drugs and 4 innovative medical devices have been approved for marketing.
