Vice Minister of Commerce Yan Dong and Cambodian Minister of Commerce Zhan Nemo co-hosted the 7th meeting of the Sino-Cambodian Economic and Trade Cooperation Committee in Phnom Penh on March 13. Yan Dong said that under the strategic guidance of the leaders of the two countries, bilateral economic and trade relations have developed steadily, and economic and trade cooperation between the two sides has been fruitful. China will continue to expand a high level of opening-up to the outside world, expand the increase in foreign trade, and guide the healthy, safe and orderly development of foreign investment, which will provide new opportunities and inject new momentum into Sino-Cambodian cooperation. The two sides should implement the important consensus of the leaders of the two countries, continue to deepen economic and trade cooperation, work together to promote the expansion of exports of agricultural products from Cambodia to China, promote the growth of regional trade and investment, encourage enterprises from both sides to participate deeply in the industrial chain supply chain system, achieve complementary advantages, maintain common interests, and promote cooperation in emerging fields such as the digital economy and green development. Zhan Nemo said that China is Cambodia's largest trading partner and largest source of foreign investment. Cambodia attaches great importance to economic and trade cooperation with China, and is willing to strengthen cooperation with China under the framework of the China-Cambodia Free Trade Agreement, the China-ASEAN Free Trade Area, and the Comprehensive Regional Economic Partnership Agreement. The Cambodian side thanks China for providing capacity building support for Cambodia's economic and social development, and thanks China for granting zero tariff treatment to 100% of the least developed countries, including Cambodia. It hopes that China will further expand imports of agricultural products from Cambodia, increase investment in Cambodia, and push Sino-Cambodian economic and trade cooperation to a new level.
