More than 1,100 commercial real estate professionals turned up at this year’s NAIOP SoCal “007” themed Night at the Fights, held Oct. 10 at the OC Fair & Event Center in Costa Mesa. This year represented the highest number of attendees ever for the annual black-tie event, along with a record total of four commercial real estate industry bouts.

Eight commercial real estate pros trained prior to the event in preparation for their boxing debut at Night at the Fights. For 2024, the fighters and champions included:

  • Lightweight heavyweight bout between Robin Bhalla, Retail Round Robin, and Eric Miller, ODIC, won by Miller.
  • Middleweight bout between Richard Bernal, Fidelity National Title NCS, and Keifer Shaffer, Savills US, won by Shaffer.
  • Middleweight bout between Eric Chan, Langan, and Ray Young, CREIM, won by Young.
  • Super heavyweight bout between Jeff Farano, Buchalter and Elijah Goldtrap, Graves Construction, won by Goldtrap.

The main event also included a middleweight professional boxing match.

“What a night for the industry to come out to celebrate and enjoy an evening of glamour and competition,” said Tim Jemal, CEO, NAIOP SoCal. “Night at the Fights continues to solidify its place as the premier Southern California commercial real estate industry event.”

In addition to sponsorship and ticket sales, Night at the Fights featured a Silent Auction. Net proceeds from the auction benefited Building Block Foundation Fund and NAIOP SoCal’s legislative affairs initiatives.
