Total (TTE.US) Europe's largest refinery plans to stop production and renovation in 2025

The Zhitong Finance App learned that, according to three people familiar with the matter, French oil giant TTE.US (TTE.US) plans to carry out a major transformation of its largest refinery in Europe in the second half of 2025.

A person familiar with the matter said that the maintenance work plan at the Antwerp plant (Antwerp) will last from September to December, involving a crude oil processing unit. Another person familiar with the matter said that the repair work also included repairing the larger of the two major gasoline production plants and the furnace that were postponed this year.

Total refinery is Antwerp's largest refinery and is located at the heart of the European oil trading center. It is also the company's largest oil processing plant in Europe, processing around 340,000 barrels of crude oil per day.

The refinery has two sets of gasoline units called liquid catalytic converters. One of the people familiar with the matter said that the larger one will install a new reactor during the shutdown period in 2025.
