Professor Zhu Rui and Academician Gong Qihuang's team and collaborators from the “Extreme Optics Innovation Research Team” of the Institute of Modern Optics at Peking University School of Physics conducted research and discovered the important guiding role of high Miller index crystal surfaces in controlling the quality of micron-grade perovskite thick film grains, and developed fine temperature control methods to achieve controllable preparation of high-quality micron-scale perovskite thick films. Based on this, the team developed a high-performance trans-perovskite solar cell with a photoelectric conversion efficiency of over 26%. Related research results were recently published in “Nature” under the title “Coherent Growth of High Miller Index Crystal Surfaces Improves Perovskite Solar Cell Performance”.
