The Zhitong Finance App learned that the “2024 Annual Report on World Economic Freedom” published by the Fraser Institute (Fraser Institute), a Canadian think tank, shows that Hong Kong, which lost number one for the first time last year, weighed down Singapore among 165 economies this year and climbed back to the top. Among the five major assessments, Hong Kong continued to rank first in “freedom of international trade”; “regulation” also ranked first, improving from last year's third place (unrevised, same below); “government size” ranked 45, down from last year's ranking of 21; “legal system and property rights” still ranked 21st; and “sound currency” ranked third, a sharp jump from last year's 12th place.
