The first summit between the EU and the Gulf Arab States Cooperation Council was held on the 16th in Brussels, Belgium. The summit outcome communiqué said that the EU and the GCC will strengthen dialogue and cooperation in the fields of trade, investment, energy, climate change, etc., and strengthen connectivity between the two regions. The communiqué said that the EU and the GCC expressed serious concern over developments in Israel, the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, and called for full implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 2735 to reach a cease-fire agreement, provide humanitarian aid to civilians, and release all detained persons. Furthermore, the EU and GCC call for a comprehensive, just and lasting peace in Ukraine as soon as possible in accordance with the principles of the United Nations Charter.
