Apple's vice president and managing director of Greater China Ge Yue explained at the Sina ESG Global Leaders Conference on the 16th that Apple's extensive environmental protection efforts are based on “Apple 2030,” which is to achieve carbon neutrality throughout the value chain by 2030. More than 320 global manufacturers have pledged to use 100% clean energy to make products for Apple by 2030. These represent over 95% of Apple's direct manufacturing expenses. This also includes more than 80 suppliers in China who are working to transform to produce Apple products using 100% renewable energy by 2030. Furthermore, 2024 marks the 10th anniversary of the “Apple Supplier Zero Waste Program.” More than 300 supplier factories in mainland China are participating in this program, including all completed assembly plants. Over the past decade, Chinese suppliers have successfully reduced more than 2.5 million tons of waste to landfill.
