On the 16th local time, Jordanian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Overseas Chinese Affairs Ayman Safadi held talks with visiting Iranian Foreign Minister Alagzi. During the talks, Safadi and Alagzi first discussed bilateral relations between the two countries. The two sides agreed to engage in systematic dialogue to resolve all bilateral issues and develop friendly relations between the two countries on the basis of mutual respect, non-interference in internal affairs, and active cooperation. The two sides also discussed the efforts made by the two countries to end the escalation of the situation taking place in the region and prevent the region from falling into an all-out regional war. Both sides agree that an all-out regional war is of no benefit to anyone and will threaten regional and international security and peace. Safadi said that stopping Israel's aggression against the Gaza Strip and Lebanon and forcing Israel to stop its escalation is the first step in preventing the escalation of the situation in the region and restoring stability. Safadi stressed that Jordan will not become a battleground for anyone, nor will it allow any party to invade Jordan's sovereignty and airspace or threaten the safety of Jordanian citizens. Safadi also stressed that implementing the “two-state solution” is the only way to just and comprehensively resolve the Palestinian issue and achieve lasting peace in the region.
