According to the Ministry of Commerce's website, on October 14, an upgraded version of the five types of exclusive work visas for Chinese citizens under the China-New Zealand FTA came into effect. The arrangement optimizes the original Sino-Singapore FTA work visa arrangements for Chinese citizens to engage in new occupations with Chinese characteristics, covering five major categories, including traditional Chinese medicine, Chinese food chefs, Chinese teacher assistants, Chinese martial arts instructors, and Chinese travel experts. After the upgrade, the work visa quotas for Chinese language teacher assistants and Chinese travel experts, which are in high demand, were raised to 300 and 200, respectively, while the eligibility requirements for applying for two types of work visas for Chinese travel experts and Chinese food chefs were relaxed.
