South Korea's LG Renewable Energy announced today that it has signed a two-battery supply contract with Ford Motor Company, but did not disclose the value of the deal. Under the contract, LG Renewables will supply Ford a total of 109 GWh of power batteries for its electric commercial vehicles starting in 2026, for a contract period of 4 to 6 years. The two companies also said that the batteries used in the current Ford Mustang Mach-E will be manufactured at LG New Energy's Michigan plant in 2025 to improve business efficiency and make better use of competitive market conditions such as IRA tax credits.
