Recently, 8-inch iron-doped lithium tantalate crystals independently developed by Tiantong Kaiju, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Tiantong Co., Ltd., were successfully produced. It was another major breakthrough for the company after stable mass production of 6-inch lithium tantalate crystals. It effectively filled the gap in the application of large-size piezoelectric materials and laid the core material foundation for the development of larger domestic optoelectronic integrated chips and mobile terminal RF filter chips. As an important functional crystal material, lithium tantalate has broad application prospects in various high-tech fields such as acoustic surface wave devices, high-frequency communication, storage, and sensing. The successful preparation of 8-inch large-size lithium tantalate crystals also indicates that the domestic industry has taken a solid step in independent development and application of high-tech materials.
