In response, the Taipei prosecution said it would file a protest. In addition, another defendant in the same case, Peng Zhensheng, the former deputy mayor of Taipei City, was allowed to be detained and banned. The defendant, Ko Wenzhe, was charged with the alleged floor area ratio fraud case in Huacheng, Taiwan and Beijing during his tenure as mayor of Taipei City. Taiwan's inspection and integrity units have continued to investigate this case recently. On August 30, the Taipei District Public Prosecution Service and the DPP administration's “Independent Affairs Department” took Ko Wenzhe away for questioning.
