Chile, the world's second-largest lithium resource country, has nationalized the lithium industry. In order to seek financial and operational support for the development of local lithium resources, Chilean state-owned mining company Enami announced a list of “interested parties” for future cooperation. Two Chinese companies, BYD and Zhongwei New Materials, were shortlisted. Next, they will enter the negotiation stage. It is expected that the list will be finalized in March next year. Enami announced the above list on August 29th. Next, Enami will negotiate with these companies to select public-private partnerships to jointly operate the Altoandinos lithium salt field project in Chile's Atacama region or provide development funding for it.
