The deposit page is slightly different for accounts with equity and accounts without equity.

If you don't have any stocks in your account, please refer to the following steps:

If you have received a free stock or transferred stocks from another broker, please refer to the following steps:

Choose Your Bank Account

The beneficial owner of the bank account must be identical to the Webull account owner. Only U.S. bank accounts are supported for ACH transfers. Checking accounts are recommended rather than a savings account to avoid potential transfer reversals. Credit cards, pre-paid cards, PayPal, and other alternative bank accounts are not supported.

Link Your Bank Account

Before your first deposit via ACH, you will have to link a bank account. There are two methods to link your bank account: Instant Account Verification and Micro-deposit Verification.

If you use a major bank like Bank of America, Chase or Wells Fargo, real-time verification is recommended. It is easy and quick.

A) Real-Time Verification

  • Choose "Real-Time Verification"

  • Choose your bank from the list of major banks or scroll down and tap More Banks to search for your bank

  • Enter your online banking username and password

  • Choose which account you'd like to link (checking account is recommended)

Note: Real-time verification is a method to verify the beneficial owner of the bank account is identical to the Webull account owner.

B) Micro-Deposit Verification

If you cannot find your bank in real-time verification bank list, you'll need to verify your account manually by micro-deposit verification. This takes 1- 2 business days to complete.

  • Choose "Micro-Deposit Verification"

  • Choose the account type of your bank account (checking account is recommended) and enter your routing and account number.

  • Tap "Next" We will send two micro-deposits (both less than $1) to your bank account. Generally, the two micro-deposits will be added to your account in one or two business days. Please check your bank account and once you have received these two micro-deposits, please come back to the Webull App to complete the micro-deposit verification process. These two micro-deposits are for the sole purpose of verifying your bank account and will be withdrawn 48 hours after settlement. Please complete the verification process as soon as possible.

  • Login to Webull and Tap "Deposit"

The original instruction is tap the “deposit” button tap “I have received two micro-deposits.” Please enter the exact amount in the right order.

If your first input gets denied, you can simply switch the order of the two numbers and try again. Note: Micro-deposit verification is relatively more complex, you may encounter the following problems:

If you don’t see the two small deposits for 2 business days, it may because:

  • Sometimes your bank won’t send you the message about the micro deposits, please check your bank's online platform to check the cash inflows.
  • The bank's routing and account number you provide may be wrong.
  • You bank may do not support ACH transactions. If not, please try another bank account.

If you receive one micro deposit:

  • The two micro-deposits might have been merged together by your bank. Please ask your bank for the individual amounts. Note: Please don't submit multiple micro deposit verifications within a short period of time.
  • This could make it difficult to determine which deposits to verify. Note: The two micro-deposits are for the sole purpose of verifying your bank account and will be withdrawn in 48 hours by the bank.

Deposit Money into Your Webull Account

After linking the bank account, you can transfer funds into your Webull account anytime, anywhere.

Tips to Avoid ACH Reversals

ACH transfers are free. However, if an ACH transfer is reversed due to insufficient funds, non-transactional account status, or the wrong routing number, you will be charged a $5 fee by our clearing firm. An ACH reversal happens when a scheduled transfer gets canceled.

Please pay attention to the following points in order to avoid reversals:

  • Please make sure your bank account is compatible with standard outgoing ACH transfers, and that you’ve entered in the correct information when you were linking the account. If you are using a savings account, please check your bank's ACH policy for restrictions on the number of transactions allowed per month to avoid ACH transfer failures.
  • The bank may not process your funds transfer request immediately, therefore please make sure you have the necessary funds in your bank account for at least 5-6 business days after you initiate the ACH transfer to prevent a transfer reversal.
  • Please do not transfer all funds out of your bank as your bank may charge a service fee, which will cause a reversal due to insufficient funds. Please contact your bank for more details on their fees and policies.

Cancel A Deposit Request

You can cancel the pending deposit via the Webull App if our clearing firm has not processed it. The cancellation period varies according to the time you initiated the deposit. When the ACH cancellation period has passed, please wait for seven business days and you will be able to withdraw the funds via ACH at no charge.

  • Choose the deposit request you want to cancel
