Futures Order Types and Durations

What order types are supported for Futures?

Available order types include market orders, limit orders, stop limit orders, and stop market orders, and trailing stop orders, and OCO orders.

With an OCO order, both parts of the order are live in the marketplace at the same time. In some cases, due to market volatility, it is possible that both the stop and limit order can be executed. Read more about how order types may function here.

What order durations are supported?

Webull supports two time-in-force selections for futures orders:

  • Day: The order remains active for the current trading session. Any unfilled portion expires when the session ends.

  • Good-Til-Canceled (GTC): The order remains active until it is filled, canceled, or reaches an applicable expiration or cancellation deadline.

A trading session may extend across calendar days, so a Day order does not necessarily expire at midnight.

What are the trading hours for futures?

The market for futures is open virtually 24 hrs. a day and 6 days a week. However, each product has its own specific hours of trading. Click here to view each contract's trading hours.
