The Company’s holdings are generally listed in Japan, although the portfolio can also include companies listed elsewhere whose business is predominantly in Japan, as well as unlisted companies. The Company’s portfolio is constructed through the identification of individual companies which offer long-term growth potential, typically over a three-to-five-year horizon. It invests in various sectors, including commerce and services, information, communication and utilities, electricals and electronics, manufacturing and machinery, chemicals and other materials, retail, financials and others. Baillie Gifford & Co Limited is the alternative investment fund manager (AIFM) of the Fund.
