Its investment strategy is to invest in commercial and residential mortgages from borrowers whose financing needs are not being met by the larger financial institutions. It finances various types of properties, which include residential houses, small multi-family residential properties comprising six units or fewer, residential apartment buildings, commercial and storefront retail properties, as well as residential and commercial land development sites. It also provides construction financing and short-term bridge loans to real estate developers. The Company is managed by Canadian Mortgage Capital Corporation (CMCC).
