The Company’s wholly owned subsidiary, Southern Michigan Bank and Trust (SMBT) offer individuals, businesses, institutions and governmental agencies a range of commercial banking services primarily in the southern Michigan communities in which they are located. It offers a variety of deposit, payment, credit, and other financial services to all types of customers. These services include time, savings, and demand deposits; safe deposit box services, and automated teller machine services. Its loans, including both commercial and consumer, are extended primarily on a secured basis to corporations, partnerships, and individuals. Its commercial lending covers such categories as business, industrial, agricultural, inventory and real estate. Its consumer lending covers direct and indirect loans to purchasers of residential real property and consumer goods. It also offers trust and investment services.
