What Resolves A Bifurcated Market?
There has never been a more highly defined separation of winners and losers; will this resolve and if so what is the probable way? Apple has slowing growth and a 35PE, Amazon 30% growth and a 100 PE; both companies face the ceiling that comes with enormous market cap. In the 1960s-70s solid blue chips known as the Nifty Fifty had 50 PEs and fell hard in the inflationary 70s; in 2000-2003 dot.com leaders crashed miserably. The Nifty Fifty stocks arguably did well enough as investments within 25 years becoming ordinary dividend stocks; former #1 Cisco has yet to recapture its 2000 market cap. Radically overpriced leaders fall back to the rest of the market in two ways: quickly or slowly. It happens on two time frames: sooner or later.
