Pacific Gas and Electric Company (the Utility) is an energy company. The Utility owns and operates electricity and natural gas facilities, including two nuclear generation units and a hydroelectric generating system. The Utility generates electricity and provides electric transmission and distribution services throughout its service area in northern and central California to residential, commercial, industrial, and agricultural customers. The Utility provides electricity, transmission, and distribution services in its service area. The Utility provides natural gas transportation services to core customers (small commercial and residential customers) and to non-core customers (industrial, large commercial, and natural gas-fired electric generation facilities) that are connected to the Utility's gas system in its service area. The Utility owns and operates an integrated natural gas transmission, storage, and distribution system that includes most of northern and central California.
