Lawyers for the US Department of Justice and Federal Reserve Governor Lisa Cook have asked the federal judge to continue to set aside a legal dispute where Trump is trying to remove her from office, pending the White House hearing scheduled for next month. The Department of Justice and Cook's legal team submitted a brief joint report to US District Judge Jia Cobb on Friday, saying that the court should suspend upcoming deadlines and that they will update the judge again in early January. The US Supreme Court ruled this summer that Trump did not give her a proper chance to defend herself before trying to remove Cook for the first time last year. The Chief Justice allowed Cook to stay in office temporarily and sent the case back to Cobb for trial. In August of this year, Trump relaunched her removal.
