On November 6, the China Securities Regulatory Commission issued a notice agreeing to register sunflower oil futures and options on the Zhengzhou Commodity Exchange. The Securities Regulatory Commission will urge Zheng Shangshang to make all preparations to ensure the smooth launch and steady operation of sunflower oil futures and options. As the fourth largest edible vegetable oil variety in the world and the fifth largest edible vegetable oil variety in China, sunflower oil futures and options have been approved for registration, and the risk management toolbox for the oil and oil industry chain will be further enriched. Zheng Commercial Institute made targeted arrangements for the design of futures contracts and delivery rules: sunflower oil futures are not restricted by importing countries, and three alternative delivery products are set up to maximize the amount available for delivery; the warehouse plus factory warehouse delivery method is used to facilitate the participation of various industry players in the delivery, and the factory warehouse is allowed to delay delivery for up to 30 days, leaving time for sellers to allocate supplies globally. In terms of delivery areas, it covers major trade hubs such as Jiangsu, Shanghai, Shandong, and Tianjin, covering more than 90% of domestic consumption and trade volume, and has established Xinjiang as a non-benchmark delivery area to facilitate land transportation of sunflower oil from Central Asian countries to participate in delivery. In addition, the monthly delivery limit is set at 50 lots to effectively prevent delivery risks and ensure the smooth operation of the market.
