Earlier, HSBC Holdings disclosed third-quarter results. CICC indicated that HSBC Holdings' 3Q26 adjusted net interest income was US$11.7 billion, +5.5% year-on-year, lower than market expectations. 3Q26 customer deposits increased 5.7% year over year, mainly due to retail and public deposit inflows from Hong Kong, China after the privatization of Hang Seng, and deposit growth brought about by India's FCNR program; net loan amounts were +4.8% year-on-year, mainly due to growth in Hong Kong, China, commercial loans in the UK, and loans under the FCNR program in India. Furthermore, the withdrawal of the Australian retail business led to the transfer of about 26 billion US dollars of loans to be sold and some deposit outflows, reducing the Group's book deposit and loan balance.
