Trillion Asset Management Giant Debuts on Solana: Tokenization of Emerging Market Bonds Launched

According to Woofun AI, asset management giant Schroder Group officially launched the tokenized share (code: SISF) of the emerging market bond fund “Schroder International Selection Fund Emerging Market Bond” on the Solana blockchain on the 4th. This is the first time that the agency has deployed related products on the Solana platform.

As an organization with assets under management of £867.8 billion (approximately $1.15 trillion) as of the end of June 2026, Schroder Group is now teaming up with Centrifuge, which provides tokenization technology, to inject active management strategies into the chain. The fund invests in emerging market treasury bonds, corporate bonds, and bonds denominated in local currency. Investors hold tokenized shares linked to net asset value (NAV) through a linked fund (feeder fund) with an on-chain share category. The linked fund then invests in the Schroder Emerging Markets Bond Fund. John Mensak, senior investment director of Schroder Group's bond business, pointed out that emerging market bonds are highly dependent on local market insight and active management capabilities, and are introduced to the chain to improve their usability. Marita McKinley, who is responsible for operating the APAC digital asset business, emphasized that the move is intended to meet the needs of investors in the “digital age.”

Notably, as early as August 2026, the group received approval from the Central Bank of Ireland to establish the first tokenized share category (product name SOAR, supported by J.P. Morgan's Kinexys multi-chain tokenization platform) in a dollar-denominated money market fund.

According to data compiled by Woofun AI, RWA tokenization is expanding from cash and short-term treasury bonds to more complex actively managed strategic assets. On June 30 of this year, Centrifuge collaborated with New York Life Investment Management (assets under management of approximately US$807 billion) to tokenize its US high-yield corporate bond strategy (HYB); in May, US Coinbase (COIN.US) listed Centrifuge as the preferred tokenization infrastructure and made a strategic investment in the latter token CFG, and the relevant framework was connected to its base chain.

This practice of converting real-world assets into blockchain tokens has attracted a large number of traditional financial institutions to enter the market because it can significantly improve asset transfer and settlement efficiency.

Structurally, the scope of tokenized RWA is undergoing qualitative transformation, extending from simple liquidity management tools to active management strategies with complex pricing logic. This is a key sign that traditional asset management giants have increased their trust in on-chain infrastructure after short-term treasury bonds. It indicates that more high-threshold asset classes will gradually achieve instant settlement and allocation on a global scale.
