03:45 AM EST, 11/04/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Bayer (BAYN.F) secured approval in China for sevabertinib as a first-line treatment for advanced HER2-mutant non-small cell lung cancer, according to a Wednesday release. The German life science company said the National Medical Products Administration of China's decision followed a breakthrough therapy designation for the drug from the country's Center for Drug Evaluation. Sevabertinib already has approval for the same indication in the US and Japan. The latest decision was based on the results of the ongoing phase 1/2 Soho-01 trial, which assesses the safety and efficacy of the medication in the approved indication.
