Recently, the phase 1 clinical trial of HLX109 injection (monoclonal antibody targeting IL1RAP) (HLX109) for the treatment of generalized pustular psoriasis has been approved by the relevant Human Research Ethics Committee and has passed the clinical trial registration with the Australian Medicines Administration (Therapeutic Goods Administration).

HLX109 is a monoclonal antibody targeting IL1RAP independently developed by the company. It is intended to be used to treat generalized pustular psoriasis. IL1RAP (interleukin-1 receptor coprotein) is a key coreceptor in inflammation-related cytokine receptor signaling complexes such as IL-1, IL-33, and IL-36. HLX109 can specifically bind IL1RAP to block IL1RAP from being recruited to ligand-receptor complexes formed by IL-1, IL-33, and IL-36 and their corresponding receptors, thereby inhibiting the formation of complete signaling complexes and activation of downstream inflammatory signaling pathways. Preclinical studies have shown that HLX109 has the effect of suppressing the inflammatory response and has shown good safety.
