01:12 AM EST, 11/04/2026 (MT Newswires) -- HSBC Holdings (HSBA.L) expects new business opportunities to arise from a recent agreement between 30 multilateral development banks and development finance institutions to make greater use of certain securitization structures, Bloomberg News reported Tuesday. Himesh Patel, the UK-listed lender's managing director for public sector banking at EMEA, told the news outlet that the move is expected to benefit structuring, risk distribution, capital markets execution and investor placement. The agreement, announced Oct. 1, outlines plans to increase the use of synthetic risk transfers and collateralized loan obligations to help the institutions free up capital.
