The Motley Fool · 4d ago

Key Points

  • Third-quarter revenue grew 17% year over year to $97.8 million.

  • Third-party publisher redemption revenue increased 43% year over year.

  • Total redeemers reached an all-time high of 23.6 million.

On its third-quarter 2026 earnings call, held on Nov. 2, 2026, Ibotta (NYSE:IBTA) reported revenue of $97.8 million, up 17% year over year. Redemption volumes are accelerating, and retail partnerships are expanding, both signs that the company's digital promotions network is gaining real traction. And because the business carries high operating leverage, revenue gains flow almost directly to profit. Three takeaways from management's comments highlight the road ahead.

1. Third-Party Publisher Redemptions Surge 43% as Offer Supply Expands

Management expanded brand advertiser relationships and increased offer supply across digital channels. That drove higher engagement on partner platforms. Third-party publisher platforms, which are digital properties operated by retail and delivery partners, saw redemptions surge as consumer demand for savings picked up.

Third-party publisher redemption revenue tells the same story. It declined 4% a year ago and has improved consistently, posting a 43% year-over-year increase this quarter.

2. Publisher Expansion Beyond Core Grocers Opens New Shopper Touchpoints

By signing regional grocers and delivery services to the Ibotta Performance Network, the digital infrastructure powering partner promotions, management is reaching more shoppers. Adding convenience stores and regional grocery chains gives consumer packaged goods, or CPG, clients broader distribution across a wider range of retail formats.

Since switching to the Ibotta Performance Network, its customers have access to nearly 3x as many coupons as before, a result Giant Eagle has highlighted on its own website.

3. Operating Leverage Drives 43% Growth in Adjusted EBITDA

Digital promotions carry virtually no variable delivery cost. So as revenue grows, profit margins expand along with it. Adjusted EBITDA, or earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization adjusted for non-recurring items, reached $23.8 million, growing faster than top-line revenue.

This is now the fourth consecutive quarter in which we've delivered top- and bottom-line results above the high end of our guidance range.

Looking Ahead

Redemption momentum across digital channels supports early projections for 2027 revenue growth of at least mid-single digits. Broad publisher distribution and automated measurement tools give the company structural advantages over legacy promotion channels. And management is watching how durable offer supply holds up as new retail partners ramp.

The progress we have made across the business over the past several quarters, along with the impact we expect from work still underway, gives us increasing confidence that we are returning to a period of consistent and sustainable revenue growth.
-- Matt Puckett, Chief Financial Officer

In the meantime, deepening brand relationships and tight cost controls back up the long-term margin story as the company scales.

We see plenty of opportunity ahead to build on these gains and create even more value for our CPG clients, retailer partners, and consumers.
