Barclays Offers Early Settlement Under UK Motor Finance Redress Scheme

05:18 AM EST, 11/03/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Barclays' (BARC.L) Barclays Partner Finance will offer early settlement under the UK Financial Conduct Authority's motor finance redress scheme to give some customers the option to receive compensation while the scheme remains partially suspended. The British banking group said Tuesday that the settlement will be offered to some customers whose complaints about the commission on their motor finance agreement were acknowledged on or before Oct. 1. The value will be calculated using the FCA's motor finance redress scheme methodology. Barclays added that acceptance of the offer is optional, and those who decline or take no action may be entitled to a larger, smaller, or no compensation, following the conclusion of the ongoing legal challenges to the scheme.
