Apple’s third quarter results were met with a negative market reaction, despite reporting both revenue and profit above Wall Street expectations. Management attributed strong sales growth to robust demand for the newly launched iPhone Duo, iPhone 18 Pro models, and Mac lineup, as well as continued momentum in services. CEO John Ternus highlighted that supply constraints and higher memory costs posed challenges, while the company continued to invest in AI and product innovation. The introduction of new AI-powered features, including Siri AI, and expansion in emerging markets like India were notable contributors to the quarter’s performance.
Looking forward, Apple’s outlook centers on continued AI integration and further expansion of its services ecosystem. Management emphasized that rising memory costs and ongoing supply constraints are expected to weigh on margins in the coming quarters. CFO Kevan Parekh noted, “We expect gross margin to be between 45% and 46% next quarter, with higher memory costs and initial Siri AI ramp costs as key factors.” The company also sees opportunities to grow paid subscriptions and expand iCloud+ offerings, with future monetization tied to new AI features. Apple’s leadership remains focused on balancing investment in innovation with operational discipline.
Apple’s management pointed to new hardware launches, expanded AI capabilities, and strong demand in key markets as the primary drivers behind its quarterly performance and forward outlook.
Apple’s guidance is shaped by anticipated cost headwinds in memory, ongoing supply chain constraints, and the scaling of AI-driven services.
In upcoming quarters, the StockStory team will be watching (1) the pace of global rollout and user adoption for Siri AI and related AI-powered features, (2) the company’s ability to manage persistent memory cost inflation and supply chain constraints, and (3) continued growth in services and paid subscriptions, especially as new bundled offerings and monetization models are introduced. Execution on product supply and the expansion of services into new markets will also be key signposts.
Apple currently trades at $329.05, down from $338.20 just before the earnings. At this price, is it a buy or sell? See for yourself in our full research report (it’s free).
