05:41 AM EST, 11/02/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Leonardo Maria Del Vecchio, a son of EssilorLuxottica's (EL.PA) late founder, reportedly obtained a financing package of up to 22 billion euros from Citi to help finance a plan to boost ownership in the Paris-listed eyewear group's majority shareholder, Delfin. Reuters reported Monday, citing a person close to the businessman, that Del Vecchio is looking to buy five or six shareholdings in Delfin. Italian newspaper QN earlier published Del Vecchio's offer letter to other Delfin shareholders, without financial details. The offer follows Czech arms billionaire Michal Strnad's reported 30 billion-euro bid for Delfin amid escalating tensions among the late Leonardo Del Vecchio's heirs. Citi and Delfin did not immediately respond to requests for comment from MT Newswires. (Market Chatter news is derived from conversations with market professionals globally.
