05:10 AM EST, 11/02/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Abu Dhabi-based energy companies, investment firms and government-linked entities formed partnerships with US artificial intelligence company OpenAI to expand the deployment of its technologies across multiple sectors in the United Arab Emirates. State-owned Abu Dhabi National Oil Co., or Adnoc, signed a multi-year partnership with OpenAI and Emirati technology company G42 to deploy OpenAI Frontier across its operations, it said in a Monday release. Under the agreement, OpenAI's latest models will be deployed on G42's sovereign AI infrastructure in the UAE, with human oversight of key decisions. OpenAI Frontier will also be integrated into Adnoc's existing AI, including specialist subsurface application ENERGYai. The initial focus will be on transforming field master planning into a single, integrated decision and using interconnected AI agents to forecast crude oil movements to improve decision-making. Separately, Mubadala Investment, G42 unit Inception42 and OpenAI will work together to advanced AI capabilities for investment analysis, opportunity identification and risk assessment. OpenAI and Inception42 also signed a separate five-year deal to boost the adoption of frontier AI across government, enterprise and education sectors. The deals were signed during OpenAI Chief Executive Sam Altman's visit to the UAE.
