The Hong Kong Securities Regulatory Commission said it welcomed the expansion of the scope of application of Chinese treasury bonds as margin collateral. HKEx today extended the scope of application of Chinese treasury bonds and Chinese policy bank bonds as eligible non-cash margin collateral to its listed derivatives clearing houses. The relevant clearing house has reduced the financing fee for non-cash security deposit collateral to 0.15% per annum. These optimization measures help reduce financing costs for market participants and promote the continued development of the fixed income and money market ecosystem in Hong Kong.
