Amplifon stock closed at €11.17 on Friday, capping a week where the shares slipped in the low double digits, just as investors digested a soft looking Q3 2026 earnings print. At first glance, a basic earnings per share figure of €0.028 on €575m of revenue and a thinner net profit base looks like a classic margin squeeze story that justifies the short term pullback.
Step back a little and the picture changes. Trailing twelve month earnings from continuing operations of €75.6m sit inside a business that still trades on a rich 39.4x P/E, with profit margins already compressed. This quarter is less about one bad headline number and more about whether that premium valuation can live with a weaker earnings cushion.

The bullish story hangs on Amplifon turning execution into higher quality earnings rather than just riding hearing care demand.
"The main requirement for this view is successful execution of the GN Hearing vertical integration and Fit4Growth store optimisation so that the planned cost synergies and margin improvement actually flow through."
On that score, Q3 looks like a milestone. Organic revenue grew 3.6% even while Fit4Growth and divestitures pulled reported sales back. At the same time, adjusted EBITDA margin widened by 90 bps and adjusted EBIT margin by 150 bps, with free cash flow more than doubling year to date. That combination of mix clean up, higher profitability and lower leverage shows the optimisation is already feeding into the income statement and cash generation, even before GN Hearing closes.

The bearish read says Amplifon’s self help comes with too much revenue damage.
"While the Fit4Growth program is lifting adjusted EBITDA margins and lowering CapEx, the expected 3% to 3.5% drag on 2026 revenue from clinic closures and market exits (now including India) risks leaving overall revenue growth meaningfully below what is currently implied by premium pricing of the stock."
Q3 confirms the haircut. Reported revenue barely moved while organic growth reached 3.6% and Fit4Growth subtracted about 3.9%. Margins improved and free cash flow strengthened, so the feared profitability squeeze is not in sight, but the bear concern on top line friction is clearly visible in this print.
Amplifon just highlighted how a rich P/E can feel fragile when profitability compresses. The real opportunity is finding stocks that may be undervalued before the market recognizes their strengths.
