Eurostat released data on Friday. Eurozone economic growth slowed to 0.4% in the third quarter. After the economy stagnated in the first quarter of this year, the economy of the Eurozone, which consists of 21 member countries, rebounded in the second quarter, and the growth rate reached 0.6%. Even so, the initial value for the current third quarter is still higher than the expected growth rate of 0.2%. However, France's economy unexpectedly shrank by 0.1% from July to September. The country is mired in multiple predicaments: the high cost of living has sparked ongoing protests, and investors are concerned about France's political game around cutting high debt. The ECB said that the impact of rising energy prices has not yet formed a second transmission effect in the overall economy. However, analysts believe that since energy costs are still high, the ECB is still likely to raise interest rates again in December. The ECB also pointed out that the downside risks facing economic growth have increased.
