NeoGenomics stock barely flinched after its Q3 2026 report, slipping 0.3% to US$17.93 despite a week of gains and a mixed month behind it. The market reaction looked sleepy. The earnings print did not.
The real story sat in the lab results, not the ticker tape. NeoGenomics delivered US$209.3m in Q3 revenue and stronger adjusted gross profitability, driven by double digit growth in next generation sequencing and a lift in average revenue per test. Short term traders saw a flat chart. Long term holders saw a business model starting to flex.

Supporters argue NeoGenomics is building a higher value testing platform that can scale profitably.
"Investments in new digital pathology capabilities, automation, and the integration of a unified LIMS are expected to generate material operating efficiencies and enable greater operating leverage, supporting future expansion in EBITDA margins and earnings growth."
Q3 points in that direction. Adjusted gross margin widened by about 300 bps to roughly 49%, adjusted EBITDA reached about US$19m, and full year EBITDA guidance nudged up to around US$60m. NGS revenue growth of 29% with higher average revenue per test shows the mix is tilting toward the higher margin menu this narrative rests on.
The bear worry is that weakness in pharma work and a heavy cost structure will blunt all that progress.
"The company's heavy investment in IT, laboratories, and digital infrastructure, coupled with a high fixed cost base, could compress net margins or lead to losses if revenue growth or test volumes underperform regional or industry expectations, especially as industry trends shift toward decentralized or point-of-care testing models that may erode NeoGenomics' centralized lab advantage."
There is some support for that concern. The business still reported a net loss of US$7.5m in Q3 and nonclinical revenue fell about 10% to roughly US$15m. Yet double digit clinical and NGS growth, plus raised revenue and EBITDA guidance, suggests fixed costs are being absorbed better than feared, at least for now.

NeoGenomics just showed how a busy income statement can coexist with a muted share price. The real opportunity could sit in stocks where fundamentals and current market expectations are out of sync.
