According to a fixed exchange rate benchmark, the value of AIA's new business fell 5% to US$1,415 billion in the third quarter of 2026, reflecting the decline in Hong Kong business and mainland China business, but this was partially offset by an 18% increase in new business value from other reporting segments of the Group.

The value of the Group's new business rebounded strongly in September, growing by more than 25% year-on-year. Overall, benefiting from favorable changes in the product and channel mix in mainland China, the new business value margin increased 5.3 percentage points to 63.5%. The profit margin reported on the basis of the present value of premiums for new businesses remained unchanged at 11%. As announced in the Group's 2026 interim results, the Group is expected to exceed the target of a compound annual growth rate of 9% to 11% in profit after tax per share from 2023 to 2026.

The value of new business rose 5% to US$4.627 billion in the first nine months of 2026, driven by growth in all reporting segments (excluding Thailand operations).

Li Yuanxiang, CEO and CEO of AIA Group, said, “AIA's new business value increased by 5% in the first nine months of 2026, but sales in Hong Kong and mainland China were extremely high in the same period last year, which had an impact on growth in the third quarter. The value of the Group's new business rebounded strongly in September, growing by more than 25% year-on-year.”

“The Group continues to see attractive growth opportunities in various markets. Customer demand for protection, health, savings and retirement solutions remains strong, and the Group continues to invest in its competitive advantage to seize these opportunities. The agency business base continues to grow, and the number of active agents, new agents and new acting managers all increased compared to last year; at the same time, the Group's cooperation with banking partners has further deepened.”

“The Group entered the fourth quarter with strong momentum and remains confident about the outlook. As announced in the Group's 2026 interim results, the Group is expected to exceed the target of 9% to 11% compound annual growth rate of operating profit per share from 2023 to 2026, fully reflecting how the Group's profitable new business growth can be transformed into higher profits and create long-term value for shareholders.”
