Nvidia (NVDA) remains in focus on Oct. 29 following media reports linking CEO Jensen Huang as a potential target of an alleged Chinese intelligence operation. According to the New York Times, U.S. officials believed a business contact of Huang’s was passing information to Beijing. However, Nvidia said all dealings were routine and involved no sensitive trade secrets.

At the time of writing, Nvidia stock is up about 13% versus the start of this year.

What the Report Means for Nvidia Stock

The report centers on Alice Huang, an executive associated with Singapore-based Megaspeed, whom U.S. officials have reportedly identified as a Chinese intelligence asset.

Nvidia said regional customers receive ordinary business information and denied sharing sensitive technology or national-security information. Still, for NVDA investors, the major concern is whether Washington responds with tighter oversight of the company’s overseas customers.

Senator Elizabeth Warren demanded answers from Huang and Nvidia’s board on Thursday, and renewed her push for export-control legislation. That raises the prospect of additional compliance requirements or sales restrictions, although the report itself establishes no resulting financial penalty or revenue loss.

StoneX Issues a Bullish Research Note on NVDA Shares

Separately, StoneX maintained its “Buy” rating on Nvidia shares today, highlighting how customer investments and financial guarantees are helping fund increasingly expensive AI infrastructure.

Analyst commentary pointed to Nvidia’s expanding network of investments and backstops, alongside Broadcom (AVGO)-supported financing for Anthropic’s (ANT) computing capacity.

The investment implication is that AI expansion can draw on multiple funding sources beyond an individual customer’s balance sheet. That could help sustain equipment purchases as deployment costs climb.

StoneX’s $335 price target on NVDA signals potential upside of more than 50% from here. Nvidia has a history of gaining more than 7% on average in November, a seasonal pattern that makes it even more attractive in the near term.

What’s the Consensus Rating on Nvidia?

StoneX is not alone among Wall Street firms in recommending sticking with Nvidia heading into 2027.

The consensus rating on NVDA shares sits at “Strong Buy,” with the mean price target of about $329 indicating significant further room to the upside.
