On October 29, China Airlines signed a contract with Weiqiao Group and others at the 2026 Global Ecological Partnership Conference to jointly establish a “battery bank” to lower the threshold for ship electrification through models such as ship electricity separation and battery leasing. According to China Airlines, up to now, its marine battery system has equipped more than 1,200 electrified ships, covering more than 30 countries and ports.
