Futures Funding and Buying Power

How can I fund my Webull futures account?

You can fund your Webull Futures account using any of the following methods:

  • Internal Transfer: Transfer cash from your brokerage account to your Futures account through the Transfer Money section in the Webull mobile app or on the website.

  • ACH: Deposit funds directly into your Futures account via ACH using the Transfer Money section in the Webull mobile app or on the website.

  • Wire: Deposit funds into your Futures account by submitting a wire through the Transfer Money section in the Webull mobile app or on the website. Wire instructions will be provided after selecting the Futures account as the destination.

When wiring funds directly to your Futures account, include your Webull Futures account number in the memo section of the wire transfer.

How long does it take for deposited or transferred funds to become available?

  • Internal Transfer: Immediately.

  • ACH: ACH deposits typically settle within 2–3 business days and do not provide Instant Buying Power.

  • Wire: We aim to credit wire transfers on the same day, but cannot guarantee it. Please allow at least 1 business day for U.S. domestic wires to post to your account. International wires may take up to 5 business days. Processing times may vary, and incorrect instructions could cause delays or returns.

What is futures buying power?

Futures buying power represents the maximum capital available in your account to open new futures positions. It is calculated as follows:

  • Futures Buying Power = Net Liquidation Value - Current Margin Used

What is net liquidation value?

Net liquidation value (NLV), also referred to as futures equity, represents the total real-time value of your account if all open positions were liquidated immediately at current prices. It is calculated as follows:

  • Net Liquidation Value = Cash + Unrealized Profit/Loss (Open Trade Equity)

Can I use securities or other assets as collateral for futures trading?

No. Futures margin requirements on Webull must be met with equity held in your futures account. Stocks, ETFs, options, and other assets in your brokerage account cannot be pledged as collateral or used to cover futures margin requirements.

To fund your futures account, you must deposit cash directly or transfer eligible, settled cash from your Webull brokerage account.

Can I transfer futures positions to or from another broker?

No. Webull does not support transfers of futures positions. To move your futures trading to or from another broker, you would need to close your existing positions, transfer the available cash, and open new positions following the transfer.

Does idle cash in my futures account earn interest?

No, idle cash held in your futures account does not earn interest.
