Alerts

What are alerts?
Alerts notify you when specific market conditions you select are met, so you can stay informed without actively monitoring the market. Alerts can be delivered by in-app push notifications, sent to the email address on file, or sent by text message or phone call to the phone number on file. For the most streamlined delivery, they can even trigger custom in-app sound cues. You can find instructions on how to update your email address or phone number on file here.

What alert types are available?

You can create alerts across price, volume, news, price movements, technical signals, indicators, and other market events, and with full control over trigger frequency.

Price Alerts

Notifies you when an asset trades above or below a price you set. You can choose whether the alert monitors regular market hours only or also includes extended and overnight trading, and how often the alert can trigger.

Volume Alerts

Notifies you when an asset’s trading volume moves above or below a level you set. You can choose whether the alert monitors regular market hours only or also includes extended and overnight trading, and how often the alert can trigger.

News Alerts

Notifies you when new news or updates are published for an asset. Alerts monitor all available news by default and do not require any condition selection. You can choose whether alerts include regular market hours only or also extended and overnight sessions, and how often alerts can trigger.

Price Movement Alerts

Notifies you when notable price movements occur for an asset, including sharp intraday moves or when the price reaches a new 52-week high or low. You can choose whether alerts monitor regular market hours only or also include extended and overnight trading, and how often the alert can trigger.

Technical Signal Alerts

Notifies you when a selected technical signal is detected for an asset. You can choose general signal direction or select from a predefined set of technical patterns, filter by short, medium, or long term timeframe, and control how often alerts trigger.

Default Indicators Alerts

Notifies you when conditions are met for commonly used technical indicators. You can select an indicator, define a basic condition, choose the chart interval, and control how often alerts trigger.

Custom Indicators

Notifies you when custom technical conditions you define are met. You can compare price and indicators, use operators such as crossing, greater than, or less than, select specific indicator values and chart intervals, and build more advanced alert logic. Custom Indicator alerts also support Quick Order Entry, allowing you to pre-fill an order so you can act immediately when the alert triggers.
