A Slimmed-Down Siemens Looks Oddly Undervalued
Siemens most recently set its power generation business loose, leaving a stronger core focused on industrial automation, electrification/controls, mobility, and healthcare. While Siemens has top-notch discrete automation and industrial software assets, there are areas for improvement, including process automation, electrification, controls, and the healthcare business. If Siemens can grow in line with its automation and electrification peers, the shares look undervalued in a still-richly-priced industrial sector.

Service Revenue Should Increase ABB's EPS In The Long Term
I am bullish on ABB and believe it is trading almost 20% below its fair value.Though service revenue makes up less than 20% of the company's total revenue, it is incremental in the company's gross margin.Cost savings should be more evident in the company's 4Q20 results.

Fanuc Seeing A Wobbly Recovery Across Its Businesses
Fanuc's fiscal first quarter was weak relative to expectations on the operating income and order lines, with soft demand for machine tools, robots, and robomachines.Customs data suggests a flatter recovery than what the market wants to believe, but it does seem that laptops, tablets, and the upcoming smartphone cycle are driving improving robomachine demand. There's a lot of leverage in Fanuc's business model, and profits and cash flow will shoot up when demand returns.Fanuc will likely not get truly cheap without another panic, and there's some upside now on an ROE basis, but I'd wait in the hope of a 10% or so pullback.

nVent: Low Valuation And Modest Upside As A Cyclical Turnaround Play
The pressures and challenges created by COVID-19 have only exacerbated nVent's weak organic growth performance relative to peers, and margin erosion has been significant in the downturn.nVent is meaningfully leveraged to short-cycle industrial markets, and these should recover more strongly in 2021, though oil/gas will be a headwind for multiple years.Construction is a mixed bag; residential should be strong, but my outlook for non-residential newbuilds (outside industrial) is not strong.M&A remains a possible source of upside; nVent is widely viewed on the sell-side as a target.Long-term revenue and FCF growth rates of 3% to 4%, below peers, can support a mid-$20s fair value, but those growth rates would still represent meaningful acceleration from the last five years.
