Morgan Stanley economists said in a report on Sunday that the European Central Bank will cut interest rates for the first time by 25 basis points in June 2024. They added that interest rates will fall "all the way down" to 2.0% by September 2025. Jens Eisenschmidt, the bank's chief European economist, said: "We believe that the ECB has reached a peak interest rate of 4%. From now on, the ECB is slowly turning its attention from concurrent inflation to forecasts."
